Children's Day and Sports Day
Children's Day is an International Annual Event celebrated on November 20 with the goal of celebrating in all countries on the same day.
It was designed to promote international cooperation and understanding among children. The day is also celebrated to draw public attention to society's obligations to children, as well as to the problems that children face with.
Every year Children's Day is celebrated in our school in a sporting spirit. On that day a Sports Day was organized with us. Sports Day was held at the school Gym. Students of all grades participated in various sports activities. Some played football, others basketball, some showed their skill at the training ground.
This sport event was opened by first and second grade students. We all applauded the future of our school and the plunge with loud applause, because, as the saying goes: The world remains for young people. Then on the polygon, students of grades III and IV continued, followed by grade V. The most cheering was when the sixth and seventh grade students weighed their football skills, it was not known which team had more fans. It was same in other disciplines. The senior classes played a basketball match.
We all had fun and enjoyed the sporting spirit of our comrades, so we can hardly wait and we are looking forward to Sports Day, which will take place in the spr

Why was school easier for cave people?
Because there was no history to study!
What is the capital of Montenegro?
The M?
Teacher, am I going to be punished for something I didn’t do?
Of course not.
Great, because I didn’t do my homework.
Children, could you please pay just a little attention?
Of course, we are paying as little attention as we can.
Where is your homework, Tom?
I ate it.
Why?
You said it was a piece of cake!
Why is your homework in your mother’s handwriting?
Because I used her pen!
What is the fastest country in the world?
Rush-a!
Can you tell me anything about the Dead Sea?
Oh my God, I didn't even know it was sick!
Why are you bad in history?
Because the teacher always asks about things that happened before I was born!
Why did the teacher wear sunglasses?
Because his students were so bright!
You missed school yesterday, didn't you?
Not really.

THE SESSION OF CHILDREN’S
PARLIAMENT
On November 19, 2019 students from our Center Tatjana Vuković and
Novica Ćalasan (members of the School Parliament), with Professor
Andjela Bogdanovic, attended the session of the Children's Parliament,
which is traditionally held in the Parliament of Montenegro in Podgorica.
This session was held to mark the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the
UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 10th anniversary of the
Children's Parliament. The participants of this event are children from
primary and secondary schools from Montenegro.
Opening the tenth session of the Children's Parliament, the President of
the Assembly said it has been the most interesting and the most beautiful
parliament session this year.
"The jubilee year since the adoption of the Convention is a good
opportunity to pay tribute to the world leaders who, by adopting the
Convention and recognizing that children should have the same human
rights as adults, helped to find the way for improving the lives of a huge
number of children," Brajovic said.
He added that the Parliament of Montenegro recognizes the young as
carriers of future applications and development of our society.
"Please, don't talk but show. Don't promise, but prove it, ”is one of the
main messages sent to politicians that could be heard from the jubilee
tenth Children's Parliament. The children were very sorry that this session
was not attended by the leaders of Montenegro, because they wanted to
present their problems to them, either.
Children from the north pointed to the problem of displacement and
immigration of the population and asked the Assembly and the
Government to find the solutions and to invest as much as possible in the
development of the north and to create conditions in which the
population would remain to live and work there.
The children from the Resource Center asked, not to be granted greater
rights, but only to have the same rights and treatment as all other
children in Montenegro.
The children asked what our country had done and where it had come in
respecting the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
UNICEF Office Chief Osama Makavi Kogali said he was pleased to see that
progress had been made, both among the general population and among
members of the Gipsy and Egyptian communities. However, according to
the researches, there are still various forms of psychological or physical
violence against children in family and in society, which should have zero
tolerance and be completely eradicated in the coming period. Another
major problem, according to him, is that children are at risk of poverty
and therefore there is need to invest in children and their quality
education from early childhood.
Political leaders have been instructed that their duty is to hear and
consult children when making decisions that affect them.
It is often said that children are our future. However, it should be
understood that children are our present, too. The children should now
be at the top of the priority list because investing in children today creates
a better future tomorrow.
The children emphasized that they still trusted the state authorities who
knew what was best, and were also grateful that they had the opportunity
to say what they thought and expected their voice had been heard and
appreciated, not only in today's session, but they also wanted to give their
opinion, proposals and suggestions which should be the basis for decision
making and laws relating to children.
Our Professor, Andjela Bogdanović, also addressed the session and said
that she had been here as a pupil and she is here as an adult and that it is
a great honour and pride for her.

THE PROM EXCURSION THROUGH ITALY
" The best stories are found easiest between two passport pages, more easier than it could be done in all books of the World".
The beginning of our last year of high school was marked by our prom excursion, a journey that was fullfilled both with fun and educational character!
We spent unforgettable seven days away from home with so many special features and beautiful moments that we will always love to remember.
The excursion took place from September 29 to October 6. About thirty students of our school took the journey, accompanied by our class teachers and the school principal. This team was completed with a patient guide and nice drivers whom we are very gratefully thanked for making this excursion unforgettable. We visited the famous cities and famous sights of the northern part of the Apennine Peninsula. We enjoyed the charms of this country, known for its cuisine, fashion, design, clothing, architecture, art, music and many other sights which millions of tourists visit every year.
We have to admit that the trip made a big impression on us. After more than 15 hours of travelling through Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia, we arrived in Italy in the morning. We immediately boarded a boat to Venice. With the entry of the ship into Venice, Italy began to reveal itself as a large open-air gallery: we did not know where to look first, whether in the dazzling whiteness of St. Mark’s Square, the inclines of canals and freshly painted gondolas, the narrow streets where carnival masks pop out of the windows, or the cafes from whose gardens waiters shouted and Italian pasta smelled. Venice is a place which doesn't almost need to be described. It is an open-air city-museum. It is a port and a famous tourist destination in northeastern Italy. A unique city in the world. It was built on 118 small islands in the lagoon, at the mouth of the Brenta River. We visited the Church of St. Mark, which is the most famous church in Venice. Then we toured the Doge's Palace, the Sigh Bridge, the Grande Canal and the Rialto Bridge. This bridge is one of the important symbols of Venice. There are a lot of small shops, souvenir shops and shops with murano glass products on the bridge. While some of us were taking fantastic photos in front of the church of Santa Maria della Salute, the others were enjoying famous Italian food. In the late afternoon we headed to the Lido di Jesolo. Its yellow sand, clear sea, long pedestrian zone with numerous restaurants, hotels and bars left us breathless... With tired legs of walking, we got settled, but in good mood in one of the most beautiful hotels. Then, for the first time we had the opportunity to really see what Italian cuisine is, but for many of us ours remains the best. The characteristic Italian cuisine delights tourists with its aromatic scents thanks to spices in dishes such as basil, oregano and citrus... Italian breakfast is different from ours. Breakfast is usually light: cappuccino (coffee and milk) and brioche (sweet cake), or a simple espresso (black-small-strong coffee), croissant with some slices of ham and cheese. Dinner is a bit more plentiful and fragrant and that's why they consider it to be the main course. It consists of antipasto (appetizer), primo piatto (pasta with meat or fish) and finally dessert (some dried cake, ice cream or fruit). As they say for dinner we eat three plates! During our stay in Italy we learned how and where you can buy cheaper food, how to ask for more, how to avoid coperto (in order to make some money, the innkeepers thought of paying for a seating area so don't be surprised to see that your bill is higher than you expect), we also learned that ordering cappuccino after 11 am is the „8th deadly sin“ and we realized that smell is not always crucial for taste!
According to our travel programme, the second day was planned to visit Verona. Verona is the second largest and most beautiful city after Venice in the province of Veneto. It is known as the place where Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet took place, in whose honour several places were arranged in the city, and that is reason why the town is called the "City of Romance". Accompanied by a tourist guide, we toured the city of Romeo and Juliet: Bra and Erbe squares, Arena, Dante's square, Romeo's and Juliet's houses. The most interesting thing was our visit to Juliet's house, where we also heard some legends regarding the life of Juliet and Romeo. We saw the famous " Wall of Wishes" with thousands and thousands names of couples in love from all over the world and of course we left a mark on Julia's sculpture, with the obligatory selfie.
Tidy, neaty, open and full of vibrancy, this is Verona - there are so many tourists on the streets, it seemed to us that the city was talking to itself. We had enough free time, tried fruit cups and learned how to drink good coffee but to pay less ...
On the third day, a city known for the best ice creams in the world, the city of Florence. A city of riches and charm of enormous artistic and architectural heritage, we were enticed by all so all of us constantly took photographs of every corner of that city .... In this magical city the most beautiful art was made and created and it was preserved in every corner, alley, square. It was told through the most beautiful verses and painted on the most beautiful canvases. In Florence, the beauty of Tuscany, we enjoyed and felt the spirit of Dante, Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci. We walked through the streets where the Duchess and Duke of the Medici and Lorraine families once walked. What you have to try in Florence are simple dishes such as: lasagna, bruschetti, focaccia, pasta with a variety of sauces, and you should definitely try a dish that is specific for this city - Bistecca alla Fiorentina ( steak in a Florentine way ). This steak is very delicious although it’s a quite expensive. Try the ice cream, which can be found in Florence with different flavors. In Florence, the meal always ends with a single, nut-rich muffin that many of us were liked very much.
The next city we visited was Padova. It’ s the city which, with its rusticity, blend of architectural styles, creative disorganization, left perhaps the best impression of a city where one could stay and live. On our way back, we also visited the Palmanova shopping center, where we all found some pieces of clothing, shoes, jewelry, which we brought as a gift to our loved ones.
And at last remains Trieste – that famous city! Trieste, not only because of its importance for our culture and Yugoslav shopping tours, but also because of the specific combination of the Austro-Hungarian, Mediterranean and Italian cities, in the center of which you feel as if you were on the streets of any of our Balkan cities. On several occasions we could hear passers-by talking in our language and this indicated that the end of our prom excursion was approaching. The Piazza Unita d'Italia is the largest town square and probably the most popular landmark of Trieste.
And when we got on the bus in Trieste, we counted ourselves and saw that there were no missing persons in our Italian adventure. All we had to do, was to go back to Pluzine - and as we were doing when were leaving Plužine, we were not in a hurry. There were plenty of gas pumps, roadhouses cafes and toilets to visit, and the time to take a nap, listen to music, and have a nice time with friends - and that is the most important.
Like on every prom excursion, our last destination was the town of Trebinje. Trebinje, the city of the Sun and the Platanum, the city of wine and Jovan Ducic. We arrived in Trebinje in the early morning and immediately started searching for a place where we could have a real "Turkish" homemade coffee, which was the only thing we missed on this trip.
I have to admit that the local citizens of Trebinje have a special sense to record and notice everything. Although it was just seven or eight o'clock in the morning, a group of our students was watched curiously and asked "where are you from" and "where were you?". And Momo Kapor, who is originally from Trebinje, wrote that when a child is born in Trebinje, it first comes to light under the "plane trees". There are always a lot of people there, who make local jokes and anecdotes always in a kindly and friendly way! This street is a big stage, it lives its own life without missing events. It is necessary to look constantly on the left or the right, as you are in a tennis match!
Lunch at the cozy “Hearth“ restaurant officially marked the end of our excursion and a return to our hometown.
After the excursion, the students came up with different ideas how to repeat the experience and the class teachers – principal tandem would go on to organize a mini-excursion again, because they themselves acknowledged that by our education, cultural behavior and humble demands we might have deserved some more travel days ...
To end with just "A VOLTE NON CONOSCI IL VERO VALORE DI UN MOMENTO FINE A QUANDO NON DIVENTA UN RICORDO" (Sometimes you don't know the true value of the moment until it becomes a memory).

THE SPECIAL NATURE RESERVE „TIVATSKA SOLILA“
The area of Solila was protected in the year 2008 as a special nature reserve „Tivatska solila“, a unique habitat for preserving of rare, thretened and endangered animal species, predominantly birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals, as well as a large number of protected plant communities. This nature reserve, with area of approximately 140 ha, is the first protected area of its kind on the Montenegrin coast and one of the key resting areas for birds on their migratory route (Adriatic Flyway) from the north to Africa. The birds rest here, take some food and don't stop until they reach to their final destination in warmer countries.
In 2013, Solila was inscribed on The list of wetlands and swamps of international importance under the Ramsar Convention and became very important in accordance with other international treaties on nature protection (Emerald, Important Bird Areas).
This area was created by sedimentation of material brought by Široka Rijeka (the Wide River) and the River Koložun created the alluvial estuaries where people started to produce salt from the sea-water with the help of sun and wind.
This area has been recognized in the archival documents as significiant for the cultivation of salt since the Middle Ages. After the discontinuation of salt production in the 18th century, the last attempt to re-establish salt production in this area took place during 60s of the 20th century.
Since 2014 this Reserve has been managed by the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management of Montenegro.
